Irish Baroque Orchestra Apprentice Ensemble
The Irish Baroque Orchestra Apprentice Ensemble showcases the best of Ireland's young artists.
The Irish Baroque Orchestra Apprentice Ensemble showcases the best of Ireland’s young artists. Inaugurated in 2020, the IBO Apprentice programme is totally unique on the island of Ireland, offering an immersive and high-level professional development opportunity on historical instruments. Many former members of the programme now work regularly with the IBO and other groups both in and out of Ireland, ensuring that the Irish Baroque Orchestra is in safe hands for the future and that audiences will continue to enjoy excellent performances of Baroque repertoire for decades to come!
The ensemble will perform six Vivaldi concerti, which will include the masterpiece and much loved Four Seasons. Here Vivaldi uses the instruments to paint a picture of each season with flowing creeks, birdsong, a shepherd and his barking dog, buzzing flies, storms, drunken dancers, a hunt, frozen landscapes, and warm winter fires. Enjoy!
