The Amatis Trio

Founded in Amsterdam in 2014 and now based in Salzburg, the trio was soon recognized as BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists and Echo Rising Stars.

We at CON BRIO are absolutely delighted to present one of the most sought after young piano trios in Europe who were in Sligo a few years ago as guests of the Vogler Quartet. Founded in Amsterdam in 2014 the trio was soon recognized as BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists and Echo Rising Stars.

We have much to celebrate at CON BRIO. This is our 25^th season of concerts with Irish and international performers, quite a feat for a totally voluntary organization! On this occasion we also celebrate Ian Wilson’s sixtieth birthday with one of his most heart-warming scores: Spilliaert’s Beach. Ian, composer and member of Aosdana since 1998, was our Programme Adviser, Teacher and Friend who taught us most of what we know about music in a brilliant series of lectures on music appreciation.

With their imaginative programmes, the Amatis Trio has performed at international festivals such as the BBC Proms, the Verbier Festival, and the Edinburgh International Festival. As sought-after soloists, the members of the trio also play with renowned orchestras, including the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

In the 2023/2024 season, the Amatis Trio is celebrating its tenth stage anniversary. They are marking this milestone with extensive tours throughout Europe and performances at concert halls such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Wigmore Hall in London, and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam. The AMATIS TRIO are based in Salzburg.
