Lecture Series 1000 YEARS OF GENIUS

The ever popular lecture series by Dr Wilson continues.
Dates are as follows: Jan 21st, 28th, Feb 4th, 11th, 18th.

This season’s lecture series combines a number of composer profiles with in-depth examinations of major repertoire works. Ian will be looking at the lives and music of important figures such as 12thcentury iconoclast Hildegard of Bingen, Baroque keyboard composer Domenico Scarlatti and modern phenomenon Arvo Pärt, and putting Rachmaninov’s 2nd piano concerto and Bach’s violin concertos under the microscope.

These illustrated lectures with plenty of musical examples are of two hours’ duration. Light refreshments will be served.
